AOL does not have its own browser, only its own skin. At the moment the real 
browsing (interpreting HTML, CSS and JavaScript) is done by an Explorer, 
which AOL users must have installed on their computer. There is a nagging 
rumour that AOL might (or might not) consider switching to Netscape, but 
until now it hasn't happened.

I remember there are some tiny differences between IE and AOL-IE, but I 
can't remember them. Also there's something called 'smart image something' 
which results in your graphics looking horrible. This feature can be 
disabled (don't ask me how, I don't have an AOL-IE browser).
