[Javascript] Display multiple images simultaneously

I am familiar with displaying an image at a chosen point on the screen, but
I wonder if it is possible to display the same image multiple times, at
different positions ?

For example, if I had an image (black.gif) that was a 1x1pixel black dot,
would it be possible, using a loop, to display the image 100 times to form a
black horizontal line, 100 pixels long ?
