Hello Tim,

Yes they are. That was one of the first things I checked.

Still scratching my head.

Thanks Tim.

Geoff, are the security settings for both computers the same ( Tools->Internet Settings->Security).

    Hello All,

I'm new to JavaScript and learnt of this groups existence through Tim Lewis. Thank you Tim.

Tim has given me one solution to the 'exit' command, (For which I thank you), but, I'm wondering if anyone else on the list can illuminate a little more.

When I'm running HTML files in the Internet Explorer window, they seem to run without any problems, but when I run JavaScript files in the Internet Explorer
    Window, a popup window appears:

In order to protect your computer, ETC.

before the file runs. I'm assuming that that is what happens on every computer in such circumstances, Right?

On the DeskTop computer upstairs, this occurs each time a file is run for the first time but isn't repeated when IE is refreshed.

On the Laptop the popup window doesn't appear at all, so, I don't get the inconvenience.

If I run any JavaScript program that has an 'exit' command line, which stops the program on the DeskTop, it functions as it should without trouble. However,
the 'exit' command is totally screwed up, giving a run time error, telling me that 'exit' is undefined, on the laptop.

Can you tell me if I should be changing any setting in Internet Explorer to get the Laptop to acknowledge the 'exit' command in the same way that the Desktop
does? Or, is it due to the architectural construction between a desktop and a laptop?

Are there any settings in the Internet Explorer that can illiminate the popup window in Internet Explorer on the Desktop?

BTW. Both computers are using the updated IE 7.

Any enlightenment you can give, would be great.

    All the best,

    Geoff
