In my experience with IT media, the reasons that there aren't many good 
tech writers are:

1) Those who know their stuff can't write
2) Those who can write don't know their stuff (aka IT journalists)

This is a great idea, and I think I brought it up earlier. For example, I 
have an idea for a system to accurately measure how many people close 
pop-up ads before they load, but I need a Javascript guru to help me with 
the code for that ('cause I suck at JS).

Using "reason why" is just wrong. Either use "reason that" or simply "why".
