[Theforum] Author vs Content: author recognition

(Starting a new thread so this doesn't clog up the voting thread.)

Just wanted to say that I think this statement is pretty naive. Ideally,
we'd have tonnes of great content coming in, but realistically, I think we
need to look at providing more recognition for authors.

I mean, while other sites are providing ad views in exchange for content
(osopinion is one I think), cash (apple), direct bio information
(digital-web), we've got nothing but "Author: username (linked to sparse and
vague info) (cubes image)".

It doesn't seem much of an incentive to me.

(I'd love to have time to churn out articles for a pat on the back and the
betterment of society, but the fact is that I have a business pushing its
way through a totally fucked industry, and a house loan that needs to get
paid.)
