[Theforum] The footer?

Well said!
I do agree that the footer was inappropriate. Heck I just had a branch
manager fired at my bank because they hung an inappropriate joke on their
wall. (granted it was the wall facing the customer service waiting room).
But, ...if someone is sooo sensitive that they can't deal with little
prodding or an intentional jab here or there, they certainly aren't going to
survive in the real workplace. Dealing with issues that seem to strike at
one personally is just as much a skill as learning to code. You don't make
it in management with having your toes stepped on and your feelings hurt
here and there. You learn how to either fight back or let it roll off your
back. The choice of which to do depends on the philosophy of the
organization that you are a part of. That's what needs to be fostered here
is how to deal with it. So far from what I have seen, there are several
people whom are part of the core here at Evolt who go out of there way to
foster a diplomatic response to things that people take as personal. Trust
me I have tested those limits myself :). I applaud those who are doing
that. I don't believe that you are ever going to be successful at quashing
the offensive remarks.

IMHO

A sad thing is happening here, increasingly so...

The bigger this thing gets, and the more people become involved...the more
the fun, life and personality that ARE Evolt (and have been since at least
1999) get sucked out of it.

You know what was cool? It was when people were sometimes pissed about
things that happened on volt..and nobody fucking cared! Be pissed, so what!
This whole thing was a lot more fun back then.

I've been monitoring this assinine voting policy discussion and have gotten
a little crabby about it I guess...just want to say enough with the
goddamned sensitivity and political correctness already, jeez!

I never thought I'd live to see the day when Aardvark starts laying down
rules to prevent people from becoming offended...this has passed the point
of 'funny'.

Heh, I guess there should be a vote on who gets access to modifying the
footer...

Personally, I'm a little disappointed to see the coming homogenization of
Evolt.org
