> From: "isaac" <isaac at members.evolt.org> > > > > what do you think, are we too "deep in the code trenches"? many here think we are... no design threads, after all... sorta self- perpetuating, really... no design threads equates to tech-heavy days, equates to less comfort for designers, equates to less design threads... > > Oh, we are sooooo "deep in the code trenches." Maybe that's why -I- > > skim thelist mail too. > > +1 and +1 (although I delete probably 98% of posts without even > +skimming them). i'm an information whore (among many other kinds)... i read as much as i can, and oddly enough, the first time i sat down in front of a PHP script to hack away at it, i could do it -- untrained -- just from the smattering of knowledge i picked up from thelist, as if by osmosis (but not really, since osmosis is water only)... my first ever SQL query not only worked on the first try, but earned a little respect from my db monkeys, thanks to listening to people like rudy espouse the virtues of clean queries... and it was written from meta- memory, thanks to just being on thelist... IOW, i've learned so much from reading posts that i would otherwise delete, that i'm now afraid to delete posts... i can quit any time... really... i can... you gonna read that?
