Michele is moving house and can only squeeze in a day here and there. She's
clearly very busy. As is Garrett (G actually asked, "I have access?"). Matt
wanted to spend less time on admin tasks and more time helping out on
thelist and other community forums, so he left admin (which is fine, btw).

And while all the above people are perfectly capable of handling
administrative tasks, they, by their own admission, are pressed for time.
Yet, when other founding members like Adrian and Jeff have asked for access
to list administration, they've been denied. What *is* the problem with
that? Trustworthiness? As Adrian pointed out, admin wasn't even CC'd on the
message that explained who had access to what, let alone asked.

Indeed it is. The problem, IMNSHO, is that while we pretend to be a
democracy, and say that we make decisions as a group, it really isn't so.
Well, OK, we may make the decisions, but the implementation is completely
arbitrary and subject to the whims of people who holds the keys. We are
"administrators without administrative powers". The people in admin can
make decisions like "[xyz] should be given access to thelist admin", but if
these decisions are ignored, then how can we have progress? All I want to
do is help. I'm supposed to be an administrator - give me the power to
administer.

"Let's not fight" is not a solution. If we shut up, we're only prolonging
the agony and putting the problem on hold, not finding a solution. As you
rightly say, all parties must be at the table for any discussion to take
place. But if some people don't even want to engage in any dialogue, do you
see a brighter future?
