Yep, you're right.

I'm guessing that
a) You're running ie 5.something (it's fine in 6.0 here)
b) This is caused by an IE rendering bug as iirc, the code is built to be
standards-compliant without too much in the way of nasty CSS hacks.

If that's the case then yes, there are probably still a workaround or two
to be added.
