Heh. Such is Anarchy. We are kind of bad about that, mailing lists,
wiki, irc, now teamworkpm...

Which reminds me - The jump to MySQL 4.1 is the one that requires db
shenanigans to convert character encodings, remember that?

IIRC The most common and immediate effect of failing to do this as
regards drupal is not being able to log in :)
Whoever updates MySQL, new server or old, needs to keep that in mind.

We're running CVS, but I can no longer log in to it, that was one of
my stumbling blocks with working on teo 3 (4?) weeks ago. We'd rather
have SVN for the drupal dev though.

A valid point, but CVS seems to need sorting on teo, or SVN
installing, MySQL needs updating...I'm sure there was more...it comes
down to whether you spend time fixing up the old server *and* setting
up the new one. Or just set up the new one. There's less work involved
in the latter, even if it actually takes longer to happen.

I'm probably in more of a position to help out these days, since I now
have a couple of years of running my sites off a Debian based VPS
(sarge, then etch) under my belt, and have a Debian lenny/testing box
I use at home for my server side web dev stuff.
