[thelist] Flash problem

what it sounds like, and I'm just guessing, is:

as he was making each frame of the animation, the alignment of the images on
each frame of the time line got screwed up, either by an alignment command
your friend performed, or the alignment got screwed up when he imported his
frames.

I'm willing to bet the latter. If your friend made all of his frames in
another application, photoshop for instance, Then made a bunch of separate
image files for each frame. Each image file is might be shaped a little
differently. When flash imports a series of images for the purpose of
animation, chances are they aren't aligned the way they you might want them
for your animation.

so.

on his timeline, below the frames/layers, there are five buttons. the second
from the right has two overlapping solid blue squares. this is the edit
multiple frames button. click that and you'll see two "handles" on either
side of the current frame you are on. Select the frames to align by sliding
the handles out so that the left handle starts at the first frame you want
to fix, and the last handle is at the last frame to be fixed. Lock any
layers you are not trying to realign by clicking the lock icon on each layer
to be locked. now hit Control (windows) or Command (Mac) "A" to select all
the items on all the selected frames, on the unlocked layers, you should see
a bunch of selection boxes at all at once. type Control (windows) or Command
(Mac) "K" and choose your alignment, you can align every thing to to the
center, to the right, top, left or combinations.

hope this isn't too confusing
