[thelist] Visitor Statistics

The trick would be to include a small, transparent GIF somewhere in your
page, and call it with the full URL
(http://www.yoursite.com/images/marker.gif, for example), which would force
the cached page to grab something from your server, at least giving you an
indicator that there's visitors from the cached page.

Subject: [thelist] Visitor Statistics

A lot of UK ISPs are now cacheing copies of sites - I assume that visitors
to these cache sites can't be tracked through the stats packages on the main
site server (?).
If this is so, it must be distorting the figures somewhat - has anyone got
any reliable data on the breakdown of people visiting cached sites vs. those
visiting the main site?
Thanks,
John
