I'm not sure how to respond to this. Half of me says : "Here we go again." The other
half says: "They own all those domains, why can't they track people across their
sites?" The third half of me says: "That's a pretty cool hack."

For what its worth if they stated up front via their privacy policy (which nobody
ever reads) that they reserve the right to track all users via  unique ID through out
all MS owned domains, then this is really a non-issue. On the other hand, bands of
sites, advertisers, or other groups could use the hack that MS developed here to
track users among a large group of disparate sites.

Its definitely a pandora's box, a can of worms and a significant number of angels
dancing on the head of a pentium 4 pin out.
