[thelist] simple PHP Mysql problem

I have what i believe to be a rather simple problem,
meaning it would be simple for anyone to solve other
than me. 

Anyway I'm trying to build a page that will be
updatable by the user, just a simple current news
thing with the company and what not.  Anyway the user
needs to be able to enter say a couple of paragraphs
of text into a form, this data needs to in turn be
posted to the mysql database. But from what i have
seen there is a 255 character limit. Is there a way
around this? What am i missing?

If it is possible to post more than 255 characters to
the database, than i have a related question. If the
user enters two paragraphs into the form, and
seperates them with a double space, would it possible
for me to retain that formating?

Any advice that could be given would very apreciated.
