The reading I've done recently suggests that some people (can) get 
links out of context - eg blind people can get a list of just links. 
The words Click Here repeated a dozen times give them no information 
about where they can go, while content words such as donations, 
products, technotes etc do.

Mac users can see this in action by using iCab

<http://www.icab.de>

and getting the contextual menu (click and hold or control click). 
Now choose Link manager for a list of just the links. Watch a page 
full of click heres turn to custard.
