[thelist] Disabling the <enter> key to submit a form.

Hi Tab (and everyone else),

No problem.. you did well with my words. <G>

The reason I originally asked the question about the enter key was exactly
for the reason that you stated. I had been working in Access for three days
filling out forms and such, using the "enter" key to move from field to
field .. then in a rush had a request from a client to check that their form
was working properly on their site.. and hence when testing, kept hitting
enter and submitting the *damn* thing before I wanted too.

Didn't realize this would bring up such a heated discussion. But it is
useful to hear others point of view.

I appreciated Jeff's original comments to my post (belated thanks) ... and
realized right away the havoc that would be caused by changing the default
action of pressing "enter". Though this exercise did remind me that this
particular form is way too long and doesn't have any validation as yet, and
I better get off my butt and fix the darn thing <G>.

To summarize, I won't disable the "enter", nor change the function for my
particular use .. but perhaps a break in between filling out Access forms
and web forms is in order <G> .

Have a great weekend everyone.

Michele

P.S. Hey Barb, nice to see you here .. like ya new site too :)
P.P.S. Rudy, thanks for organizing the party .. should be fun .. but, can I
hide in the corner? <G>
