[thelist] Domainname for local use

Lauri -

I think this may have been answered or mentioned already, but there are 
a couple ways you can do this. Edit your hosts file in C:\windows|(i 
think, not a windows user :) and have 127.0.0.1 map to 
www.bluewidgets.com (there should be some example syntax in that file, 
if not, lemme know and we'll find some).

The other thing you could do which is more difficult, is set up your own 
DNS server and map the zone files for the DNS server to the IP address 
to the hostname, then change your network configuration on your local 
machine to point to that DNS server.. But like i said, thats more 
difficult :)
