EToys' survival as independent looks slim - Shares fall 70
percent in a day

<tip type="domain registration scam">Apparently some company
called Global Electronic Domain Registration Monitoring or
some such is faxing domain registrants with urgent warnings
that someone is trying to register their .com domain in some
other variant (e.g. .net). The fax is one of those
marketing department specials where they add a bunch of
official-looking numbers and barcodes and crap. The text
claims that someone has applied to register your .net or
whatever is open but you have first right of refusal, and
they say that you have 24 hours to contact them and register
the domain yourself. Of course, they're happy to provide
registration services to you, since they did bother to warn
you and all.</tip>
