you've been lucky... i've used (and still use both), and neither has 
proven to be more stable than the other...

actually, they both create crappy code...

photoshop wasn't built for the web... it's an image processing tool 
that can be used in lots of places... what you might mean is that 
you'd rather have the option of buying IR unbundled from PS... 
wouldn't that be nice?

depends on who you ask... i'ev seen wonderful arguments for 
CorelDraw!, Freehand, Illustrator, PageMaker, Quark XPress, 
InDesign, and have even seen people extoll the virtues of MS 
Publisher...

ahhh... so, it's an interface issue... often is... i, for one, hate how 
adobe now has all the interfaces mimic each other... Illustrator and 
PS do such different things, that i think they should be unique... as 
such, i use FreeHand, but it doesn't make me think Illustrator 
sucks...

um, except if you have a tool that does it, why not find out what's 
wrong with that... not everyone can switch tools mid-stream, 
especially if he/she can't justify it to the employer... especially if 
that employer is already purchasing PS...

i just wanna make sure this doesn't turn into one of those 
discussions that goes from "how do i..." to "buy a Mac/PC/Linux 
box..." etc... telling people to buy something else instead of 
helping address their question is rarely of any help...
