I might be a special case but I find the pop-ups that lose focus the most
annoying as I have a button on my MS Explorer that does nothing but close
windows. So when it loses focus I have to move the mouse over to the window
and then close it.

I guess you could make the same case for the Cmd(Cntl)-W  accelerator as
well.
