the directory structure and file name convention (not to mention the
disparate databases) would prevent you from sharing a local file cache. Y
ou would be better placed to install proxy software on either the local
machine or a separate machine (preferably squid -
http://www.squid-cache.org/ - on a Linux box - http://www.linux.com/ ... ) -
this would allow file caching for any properly configured browser (and if on
a separate box, would serve your network nicely).
