no offense to anyone who's posted, but every time this thread
comes up i try to bow out... but then i see people recommending
all sorts of shareware, fat downloads, resource eaters, task-bar
space-takers, etc...

what i don't understand is why no one just defaults to using
bookmarklets...

http://bookmarklets.com/

they are:
- free...
- JavaScript bookmarks...
- available for any JS-friendly browser/platform...
- not eating space or resources...
- cake to customize...
- more than just window sizers...

personally, i have almost the entire collection... they are
*immeasurably* useful...

normally rudy posts this recommendation, but he seems to have
missed his chance here...

anyway, tool categories (since a lot of people think they can't use
them):

extract data from a webpage.

Page Look
Page Color, Auto-Scrolls, Zoom on Image, tools to change the
appearance of a webpage.

affect navigation between pages.

Windowing
Resize, Center, Setup, tools that resize or reposition windows.
Most Windowing tools require NS 4 or IE 4.

Search tools
Search more quickly, more easily, and in new ways with these
Search Bookmarklets. Home of the user-defined hyperlink. You
can make your own!

Calculate/Convert
  Various calculators and U.S.-International converters.

Design
