You also have: DATE
The supported range is '1000-01-01' to '9999-12-31'. MySQL displays DATE
values in 'YYYY-MM-DD' format, but allows you to assign values to DATE
columns using either strings or numbers.
The related types: DATETIME, DATE, and TIMESTAMP.

Subject: [thelist] MySQL database time..
Hi-Ho -
Coming from the Oracle side of things, I'm getting my feet wet with
MySQL. My problem is this:
In Oracle, I used to be able to get the current database date/time with
'sysdate' ala, update table set time='sysdate';
Is there anything comparable in MySQL? I skimmed(and am currently
skimming) through the MySQL doc's but haven't found anything yet..
Thanks bunches :)
