[thelist] Do women view web pages differently from men?

Yeah, I tend to avoid buttons for multiple reasons. First of
all, I was a BBS kid, hardcore. Second, I'm extremely wary of
ads and tricks online. Third, I like to know where I'm going
before I click on something, and most buttons don't give you
that.

I don't think I miss very much in the way of links on the web.
I figured out the india page (with the pull-over bar on the
right) fairly quickly. Then again, I'm not much like the
average guy. *grins*

When I'm creating a site for myself, as in my own personal site,
I like to have as few distractions as possible... even though I
work up pretty designs for other companies, my own are very
simple, and 90% of the links are text.

I have a "photos" section where I'll have a largish thumbnail
next to a discription, and at the top of the whole page it says
something akin to "please select an image to see more". A lot
of people (more women than men, actually) miss that, and don't
realize that the images lead to more detail.
