Somebody had suggested that you have the client ZIP the files, then unZIP
them on the server once the upload is done.  Check for any number of CFX_ZIP
type tags on allaire.com

If the client needs to upload multiple images, check out

Create a membership, then pretend like you are going to build your own site.
If you can find the place where you upload an image, then you will see
reference to a software called Web Photo Manager.  That may be able to help
you, though you may have to buy a server software to make it work.  But, it
could be worth a look at.
