I was grabbing a demo of an adobe app when I saw the following
statement...

"If you reside in the European Union, please indicate your consent
that the personal information you have provided may be transferred
and stored in countries outside the EU, including the United States.
If you fail to provide your consent, you will not be permitted to
download the software."

...after some research, I found the following on a number of other
sites:

"If you reside in the European Union(EU) or if any transfer of
information between you and our Service is governed by the European
Union Data Protection Directive or national laws implementing that
Directive, then you consent to the transfer of such information
outside of the European Union to your country and to such other
countries as may be contemplated by the features and activities
provided by the Service."

Could anyone point me to something that explains this, or explain it
themselves... Perhaps what it's doing there, and how it affects
business/sites in north america, and, umm.. Implementation thereof...

...tia,

Martin Kuplens-Ewart,
