Possibly the opposite. The most effective sites targeting teenage
and young adult consumers know damn well that the audience sees
right through 'flashy'. What works better is if you work *with*
their cynicism and media-savvy, and deconstruct the above the line ads.

So say you take the TV ads for the candy bar which feature animated
characters, and you suggest that actually, there are secret messages
coded into their dances... But of course, you, and the teenager with
attitude, knew that all along, didn't you? Not that *most* teenagers
would get it, but you're just that liiittle bit smarter.

And you don't have to do that through glitz...

Peperami did exactly this btw.
