It's your job to tell them, honestly and objectively, the benefits
and costs of this approach (actually of any approach).

So yes, if they don't really understand that there may be costs
involved, it *is* your job to warn them. Because if they think
you should have, and it all goes wrong, they will see that the
liability is yours. And they phone the lawyers. Or their business
buddies. And where's your future pipeline of work?
