I guess also it depends what you're developing in.  NT is primed for ASP,
which can run from anywhere on your site - pages don't need to be placed in
the cgi-bin.  That said, I have got a few perl scripts up on various sites
and haven't found the permissions issue to be a problem at all - unless I'm
missing something!
