[thelist] site check - im finally beat

I opened up 2 windows -- one with IE 5.50 and one with Netscape 4, and could
see no difference between the two.

In the past, I have had the same kind of problems using Netscape, and spacer
gifs don't seem to work. I have found 3 potential work-arounds (I call them
'potential' because sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't):

1) Put ' ' in the td tag.
2) Put in some text and color it the same color as the background.
3) -- Inserted a single cell table into the problem cell with a width and
height of 100% and the background image set into the td tag.

Good Luck!

Subject: [thelist] site check - im finally beat

I haven't had problems for a while now, but i am finally beaten. I have
a site that has a small space in the top table, and refuses to have the
left bar extend 100% of the page. It works perfectly in MSIE 5 for
mac. all others, netscape mac/win, IE 6 it has a space in the top
bar.

Do I need to use some <div> tags? change the DTD header (I know this is
a possible culprit for NN 6)?

very frustrated, thanks

<tip>
favicon.ico not found in your weblogs? no need to worry, its an extra
feature in windows IE 5 and above that allows you to create a special
custom icon when you bookmark a site.
