thanks all for the responses. 

1. sorry for using the word "IDE", i meant something
that i can use on windows 2000 to run C and C++ code.
i do not mind using notepad or ultraedit!! (my
favorite editor)

2. as i said, i need this for windows 2000. 

any ideas? thanks!!
