i think, for the most part, we're all beyond name-calling -- no matter how
much we may dislike a particular aspect of webdev.  so, can we please leave
the unprofessional euphemisms out of it?

if you don't think aol has a big share, then maybe you need to do alittle
more research.  as already evidenced by another response to this thread, aol
has approximately 30 million users.  if your target is the average,
non-technical user then a greater percentage of your users will be aol
users.

the service?  the browser?  what?

in case you didn't know, aol users don't *have* to use the built-in browser.
they can opt to use the install of ie that comes with their computer or
install any other browser they choose.

and?  that doesn't eliminate alot of the problems directly associated with
the aol service.  things like image compression, page caching, dynamic ip
assignment, and ip re-assignment mid-session.  these are all things you've
gotta keep in mind when developing applications that will be used by aol
users.

hey, if you don't want them i'll gladly take them.  their money spends just
as well as anyone else's.
