This kind of problem occured to me on Netscape when the background-image 
was not large enough. It repeated where the cell's background-image 
didn't overlap the page's background.

See the stylesheet for http://lacanaupro.ridingzone.com/ and look at the 
gif image used as a background for the left cells.
