First the tutorial, then a good book that will show you the primary
capabilities of Flash 5 ActionScript is called Foundation ActionScript by
Sham Bhangal.  It's published by FriendsOfEd.  The book does a great job of
illustrating what can be accomplished with excellent examples and tons of
good scripting.  If you go through the book - and you could probably get
through it in a week or less - you'll have enough under your belt to feel
confident about your Flash work.
