OK, "poring over" it is.  As for "thru", you're right again.  It is
classified under "informal" on dictionary.com.

Methinks that I need to get a book on writing effective copy.  Any
suggestions?  I'm still confused over active vs. passive voice...

"Poring over" is better than "digging thru" since "thru" isn't a proper
word. You've put together a great professional look, don't muddy it with
excessively informal language.

(And if you look at "thru" long enough it looks even more nonsensical than
"poring.")
