I think you can also make it vanish in the view -> toolbars menu as well.
Not sure right now as I'm on my OSX[1] machine and haven't got round to
installing it yet. But there's definately an option up there somewhere.

[1] And what a fantastic OS it's turning out to be. Just finished
mirroring my Linux dev enviroment on it today. Probably helped that I
used to play around on NeXT machines. Forgot how handy NetInfo is.
