The question I ask design agencies every day. Usually accompanied
by the same question re Flash

To which I'd add Accessibility concerns...

 Core bit of Accessibility principle: Don't use presentational HTML to
mock up (relatively badly) what structural/semantic HTML will do for free.

Example: Don't create tables to look like hierarchical lists when HTML
gives
you that for free. And it degrades *beautifully*.
