that example doesn't quite work. spinhead has already responded more
succinctly than i could come up with when initially reading your response,
but it's also helped me come up with a better example.

guy walks into a menswear store. he's not wearing any shoes. "i'm sorry,
but you're going to have to leave. no shirt, no shoes, no service."

or, guy walks into bowling alley. he wants to bowl. "i'm sorry sir, but
you're going to have to rent a pair of *our* bowling shoes if you want to
bowl. we can't allow you to use street shoes because it will mess up the
floor."

or, guy walks into skating rink with his own skates. "i'm sorry sire, but
you can't use your own skates here. you'll need to rent a pair of ours if
you want to use our facility."

simply put, the vendor has the final say on who they do business with -- not
the other way around.

we're talking about a content portal here, not microsoft.com which is where
you'd go if you're interested in a microsoft product or microsoft-related
product or service.

i honestly don't think anybody is arguing that point.

doesn't matter. i'm asking about the current status.

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

you've already answered the question since apple's development team size
doesn't matter. that aside, you've already found the answer. microsoft
makes the most software for the mac. kind of ironic isn't it?

agreed.

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

that's how i'd do it. however, maybe it's not a simple task to throw a
user_agent check in before picking the template to display the information?
