Further info:

I just checked, our pages are set to black backrounds (less obvious)
they do flash the background in IE6.0 and you get the redundant scroll
bar (which has messed up my page layout!) (IE5.5 didn't have it)

As I said

Windows NT4.0 with IE5.0 doesn't have this problem.

I looked for alternative kiosk browsers, but didn't find anything more
suitable - unless the list know of a kiosk mode browser that does all
CSS the way IE5.0 does?
