right for PWS, open up the options, go to advanced - you'll see to the
right:
"Default Documents" - in there you will have default.html, index.html, you
want to add default.asp, index.asp, and default.htm and index.htm (just to
be sure)

Subject: [thelist] IIS problems

Hi all

I've got IIS/PWS installed on a laptop, which we want to use to give some
demonstrations on. THe problem is that IIS doesn't appear to be serving ASP
pages at all. It's serving HTML pages no problem, however ASP requests are
just doing nothing, the bar is sitting there steadfastly refusing to move.
The pages aren't timing out or anything. I've looked in the event log and
it's showing the ASP service as having started.

There are a couple of errors showing in the log

Message 1
Unable to query the W3SVC (HTTP) service performance data. The error code
returned by the service is data DWORD 0.

Message 2
Unable to query the IIS Info service performance data. The error code
returned by the service is data DWORD 0.

Unfortunatly the handy M$ error links don't appear to work, and the KB
reference
to it is to do with performance monitoring. Anyone got any ideas?

Norman
