Andrew that's an interesting point... I'll have to take it to work and test
it out for sure now. ;)  Hopefully when my lease is up I can move out of
this over-priced craphole.

Or a good hard whack on the trip from A to B; or a crapped out supply
of power to the new premises. (I think, Chris, that'd be what the
heater is doing to your monitor. Not freaky emissions, just a sudden
drop in available power.)

Can you borrow another monitor to confirm that it's the screen itself?

Or, can you take the monitor elsewhere (home / work, wherever it
isn't now) and try it out there?
