Time that is currently wasted by dorking around the code, trying to make
something work for old browsers, could be spent developing new site features
and content. I'm currently in a very small IT department -- the only
designer/html person, I hand off the mostly-finished code to the developer
who slots it into his C program. The company, however, has a LOT of users -
$2million plus annual internet sales. Customers who want us to offer all the
function and glory that they see at Amazon.com.  But there's only one of me.
And I'd realllllly rather spend my time developing requested, needed
features, function and content than mucking about trying to get things to
work in NN4.7.

That's why making the developers' lives easier will make the users lives
easier.

I don't care why some people are not snipping their posts.

it's making my user experinece here really rather annoying.
