Hello List,

Through an existing Client we have had an approach from another
organisation for a recruitment web site to be linked from and to the
existing Client site.

 From their approach to us:

===quote===
We have a rough idea of how we would like this website to operate and
would be grateful if you could provide a quotation for the set up and
also any ongoing running costs that would be involved.

The website will be independent, with a link from [Client] and
[NewClient] websites. It will also be accessible through search engines
eg: ....

Because of the nature of the website it will be necessary to update on a
daily basis, therefore maintenance and updating will need to be carried
out by [New Client]. We would like jobs to be listed by category and
anyone browsing the site will be able 'search' their requirement eg:
salary, location, job type: IT, transport etc.

We are not sure at this stage whether to let people have automatic
access to the site, or whether to ask them to register first. Obviously,
if people register, we would need to set up some kind of database to
store this information - could you advise us of the extra costs this
would involve?

Also [Client] has expressed a preference to give limited access to the
site to non-members of the [Client]. I personally don't feel that this
would be very easy to operate - what would the key be to give members
full access? Perhaps you could advise us if there is an easy option.

We envisage that each job listed will have a reference number and any
applications for each will be directed to the advertiser with a
notification to ourselves so that we can keep a track of response.

===endquote===

Time scale is to have everything prepared by the end of January 2002.

The site will be hosted on an NT/2000/XP server with FrontPage
extensions should the new client want to take full control later so
hosting costs are taken care of, other than any specific additional
software requirements - the latter we'd prefer to do without.

Any prices should include the costs of integrating it into a design that
we produce here and ensuring that the site 'works' locally and on-line.
We are based in Norfolk, England so any additional costs associated with
visiting our premises (!) to ease integration should be included as
separate costs or risk items.

Key elements therefore appear to include some form of database
integration for the jobs with NewClient being able to update/upload the
new vacancies - the solution should be user-proof... - with notification
by e-mail to NewClient and Advertiser which might presumably include the
visitor being able to attach their CV to the form.

Prices and payment are to be in GB Pounds Sterling.

If anyone's interested in quoting us please come forward: we need to
quote NewClient by the first week in January.
