there is a valid reason for this occurring, actually. it has to do with the
mail client looking for strings that should be links -- email addresses,
urls, local file locations, shortcuts, machine names, etc.
fwiw, this is completely avoidable. simply include a space between the
javascript comment and the closing html comment.
