[thelist] Image caching

Could anybody point me towards good resources on image caching? I have a
page that refreshes every minute, and would obviously like the images to be
as cache friendly as possible. They are not updated often (if it all), so I
would like to reduce server load by forcing them to be cached by a
ISP/proxy/browser.

I'm don't know much about this, and appreciate any help I can get!!
