1a. How much do the needs which it doesn't support actually matter?
1b. How much would it cost (time and money both) to get it to exactly meet
    my needs?
1c. *Now* how much do I care?

So you do a balancing act between being perfect and being affordable and
likely to be launched in what is inevitably a restricted timescale, and set
your
project scope and budget accordingly.

And usually, that's the expensive bit for the client.
