Jeff's (and mine too) method of handling Flash controls (ActiveX
controls) makes life a lot easier than adding yet another app to your system.
When you visit a web site that uses Flash, an alert will pop up asking you if
you want to let ActiveX controls run and you can choose yes or no. If it's a
site like the New York Times and they always run advertising in a Flash
banner, choose no and you will still get all the reading you want, but without
the annoying ads. The nice part of doing it within IE is that when you want to
see some Flash, you can, and it's automatic in that you are asked every time
and no worries forgetting or something malicious happening to your
computer. Unless of course you are at a warez/porno site and say "Sure, run
some ActiveX on me and see how much you can wreck my computer". ;-)
