... and on the 'flip side' of that coin toss ... there was a study done
[that I really wish I could track down] that said that a complete
vetting process with competence testing, Myers-Briggs, and psychographic
testing did no better in selecting "successful" candidates than randomly
picking one from the pile ...

Clearly we need a better process.

Arghhh! This hits a nerve...........developers/coders/etc are expected
to put in myriad hours to Get It Right and On Time and management
doesn't take the time to properly vet candidates.
It actually makes the coin toss idea sound like a good one.
