Hi Chris,

You only have two options:
1 - wait until register.com 'drops' the name (deletes it)
    and register it at your registrar of choice,
2 - contact register.com directly and ask if they will
    register it to you.

Option 1: You might wait a long time. Sometimes registrars don't
delete the names when they expire. There are examples of names
that haven't been 'active' for 2 or 3 years, yet they've not been
deleted. And, if when they delete the name, you will be in competition
with the world to get the name. If it's a 'valuable' name, you will
have a real hard time beating someone else to it. You might try
a service like SnapNames, but there are no guarantees.

Option 2: This is your best choice, if they'll talk to you. Getting
their attention is usually problematic. Good luck.
