[thelist] Query cache? is it important

I'm new to working with database's but a developer I work with who is newly
introduced to all thing non MS is working with MySQL right now.  I have
3.23 on my Apache setup and he wants 4.0.1 put in because it has a query
cache, I'm clueless about sql as I'm still working with access.  Is this
query cache ability important enough to warrant a beta database server?
